Working Trials:
This is a very interesting activity which involves what is known as 'Police Dog Work'. It includes 'nosework' (tracking and finding objects), 'agility' (clear jump, long jump and the wall scale), 'control' (heelwork, sendaway, retrieving, sit and down stay, speak on command) and being steady to gun shot. The Weimaraner has been very successful at participating in this sport and takes to the discipline well. For further details contact: www.workingtrialsworld.co.uk or www.workingtrialsmonthly.co.uk
The 3 foot clear jump, 9 foot long jump and the 6 foot scale
Obedience:
This can range from the Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme, organised on their behalf by dog clubs up and down the country, up to competition level. This is an exacting discipline and includes heel work, retrieving, down stays and sit stays with and without the handler in view.
